With six months to go before the new consumption tax system takes effect, one key issue remains unresolved

Our partner, Daniel Loria, spoke with journalist Lu Aiko Otta of Valor Econômico about the impacts of this uncertainty on companies’ strategic planning for 2027.

Although the constitutional provision minimizes the risk of challenges regarding the 90-day retroactive application of the tax rate, the lack of clear definitions on other issues—such as the regulation of the Selective Tax and the implementation of split payment—creates difficulties in setting the tax rate.
